The Next Generation Assessment Task Force was convened in Fall 2008 to examine balanced assessment systems and to make recommendations on the components of an assessment system essential to increasing student achievement. The concluding recommendations of the Next Generation Assessment Task Force are available for use by districts, professional development organizations, school boards, and the public.

Background on the Task Force:
The Next Generation Assessment Task Force was comprised of representatives from business, commerce, and education from across the state. Task force members reviewed the history of assessment in Wisconsin and explored the value, limitations, and costs of a range of assessment approaches. The task force heard presentations from a number of other states’ and discussed the diversity of approaches in state assessment systems.
